Linda, Mom (Babci) and Carolyn on June 28, 2016
Born: October 1960, Cleveland, Ohio
Passed: August 5, 2016, at her home in Lighthouse Point, FL
When Linda was an infant, her family moved to South Florida, where her father and uncle would build custom waterfront homes in Lighthouse Point and Boca Raton throughout the early 1960s. She attended local public schools and entered into the technology field at its beginning. She started her career at ModComp, a small minicomputer vendor, founded in Fort Lauderdale in 1970. Linda worked with ModComp for 17 years before moving to DataPoint (later VuGate), where she would pioneer the use of the new video visitation technology in the corrections industry.
Linda and Pat’s lives first crossed through their work in the burgeoning video visitation field. If you know Pat and Linda, you understand the depth of the love that would lead to a perfect 16 year long marriage and work relationship. Those of you that know them well, understand what a strong love they shared. Linda also got to be the mother she always wanted to be and poured her heart into raising Pat’s young daughter, Desiree, as her own.
In 2001, Linda and Pat started Strike Industries, which would become a leader in the correctional security electronics field and serviced high profile accounts such as the Department of Defense - a testament to Pat and Linda’s expertise in the field, their personal dedication to excellence, and their gift for working together; they were the best team, both in business and in their personal lives. Linda was designated as an Honorary Deputy of the Lee County Sheriff's Office by Sheriff Mike Scott.
Linda was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer nearly three years ago and continued to live a full life until very recently; on June 28th of this year, Linda drove to her mother’s birthday at her sister Carolyn’s house and enjoyed quality time with her family. Just a month ago, her life still had the feeling of normalcy.
Linda was the most loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend – always thinking of others first. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her in this life.
